The company's shared services organization is scaling, and this role is critical to unlocking visibility into operations and supporting strategic decisions across the business.
In this Data Analyst position, you will own analytics for critical operational areas within shared services—a function that touches nearly every part of Hippo. You will take full ownership of your analytics verticals from the ground up: defining what we measure, building dashboards, and translating data into actionable business insights. This is not a supporting role; you own the narrative and drive business conversations with data.
Key responsibilities include:
- Taking full ownership of assigned analytics domains
- Defining KPIs and metrics in partnership with stakeholders; designing dashboards from requirements through delivery
- Building Tableau dashboards and SQL queries that answer specific business questions
- Uncovering insights in operational data (agent retention, state/role-specific retention drivers, office utilization, HR process effectiveness)
- Presenting findings directly to stakeholders and operational leaders
- Partnering with the Sr. Manager of Data & Analytics and operational teams to shape how shared services uses data to optimize operations
You will report to the Sr. Manager, Owned Program Analytics and have autonomy to influence how analytics drives decision-making across the organization.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience as a data analyst with proficiency in SQL and Tableau
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of analytics projects from conception to delivery
- Strong communication skills; ability to translate technical findings into business language for non-technical stakeholders
- Comfort with ambiguity and ability to define metrics and KPIs with minimal guidance
- Experience building dashboards and conducting exploratory data analysis
- Attention to accuracy and clarity in data work
- Proactive mindset; ability to identify gaps and fill them without waiting to be told
- Interest in growing analytics expertise and building deep domain knowledge
