Nesto, a Deloitte Fast 50 company and Canadian Rocketship 2025, is disrupting the $2.1 trillion mortgage industry by building the mortgage ecosystem of the future. We're seeking a Cyber Defence Director to lead our security operations team and grow our cyber defence practice.
This is a hands-on leadership role combining operational excellence with strategic security program maturity. You'll mentor and develop a team of security professionals, defining career paths and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. You'll own the full incident response lifecycle—from triage and scoping through remediation and post-incident review—ensuring rapid detection and response to threats.
You'll drive proactive security testing including penetration testing and red team exercises, manage security risk assessments and remediation tracking, and collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and infrastructure teams to embed security into the development lifecycle. You'll also establish metrics and KPIs for security operations, communicate security posture to leadership, and stay current with emerging threats and industry best practices.
The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience in security operations, incident response, and threat detection. You're comfortable with SIEM platforms, threat intelligence, and security tools, and you bring leadership experience managing technical security teams. You understand the balance between security and business velocity, can communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
