The company combines software, automation, and logistics to deliver aluminum plate, bar, and rounds faster than traditional industry timelines. As Customer Program Manager, you will own complex customer commitments from initial award through final delivery. Your core responsibility is translating commercial promises into executable internal plans—connecting customer requirements to material sourcing, production capacity, quality standards, scheduling, documentation, and communication. You will serve as the customer's internal advocate while maintaining realistic commitments that operations can reliably support. Key responsibilities include: - Building and maintaining detailed program plans with milestones, owners, dependencies, and risk tracking - Translating customer requirements into clear execution plans for internal teams - Coordinating across sales, supply chain, production, quality, shipping, and finance functions - Running regular program reviews with both internal stakeholders and customers - Tracking material availability, production capacity, documentation status, delivery schedules, and change requests - Escalating risks early with factual analysis, options, and recommended solutions - Managing scope and schedule changes while preserving decision history - Keeping forecasts, system records, and customer commitments aligned - Leading recovery plans when performance misses targets - Capturing lessons learned to improve future program launches You are exceptionally organized but never lose sight of commercial outcomes. You communicate clearly and remain steady under pressure with both customers and internal teams. You challenge assumptions, ask for evidence, and turn ambiguity into clear owners and next actions. You are technically curious, able to learn material and manufacturing requirements, and can manage multiple concurrent programs without hiding behind meetings. You take accountability for communication, follow-through, and results. The role is full-time, in-person in Los Angeles or Detroit, with travel as customer programs require. Qualifications (nice to have): - Program management experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, metals, or industrial distribution - Experience with long-term agreements, qualification requirements, or production launches - Familiarity with material certifications, quality systems, purchase orders, or change control processes - Experience with ERP, CRM, project-management, or planning systems - Comfort using AI tools for analysis, risk tracking, and program administration
