Planet designs, builds, and operates the largest constellation of imaging satellites in history, delivering empirical geospatial data via a cloud-based platform to commercial, environmental, and humanitarian sectors. As a Customer Onboarding Specialist, you will deliver high-quality technical onboarding experiences that reduce time-to-value and help customers successfully adopt Planet's data, tools, and workflows.
You will sit within the Education & Enablement team, working closely with Customer Success, Technical Support, Professional Services, Product, and Revenue Operations to deliver consistent, scalable onboarding across customer segments. Key responsibilities include leading coordination of technical onboarding activities, delivering live onboarding sessions and technical training, and supporting continuous improvement of onboarding content and processes.
You will serve as a trusted technical partner for strategic customers across Latin America, providing ongoing technical enablement that helps customers build proficiency, adopt new capabilities, and maximize value throughout their journey. This includes designing and maintaining onboarding resources and customer education content, coordinating cross-functional onboarding activities, and monitoring engagement to drive improvements.
The role requires 4+ years in customer onboarding, customer education, technical training, technical support, or customer success. You must be professionally fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, capable of delivering training confidently in all three languages. Technical aptitude is essential—you should understand complex customer workflows, explain technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences, and have hands-on experience with coding or scripting (preferably Python). Experience with GIS, remote sensing, or geospatial data platforms is preferred. Familiarity with adult learning principles, LMS platforms, and SaaS/developer-focused environments is a plus. A bachelor's degree is required.
