As a Cryptography Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing cryptographic algorithms and primitives that run on YubiKeys and YubiHSMs. This includes encryption, hashing, digital signatures, and key exchange mechanisms. You will follow research developments in both classical cryptographic algorithms (RSA, ECC) and Post Quantum Cryptography algorithms (ML-DSA, ML-KEM), ensuring Yubico's products remain at the forefront of security standards. Key responsibilities include: - Implement and optimize cryptographic algorithms for hardware security keys and HSMs - Monitor and evaluate emerging cryptographic research, particularly in post-quantum cryptography - Write correct, efficient, and secure code with disciplined engineering practices - Address side-channel vulnerabilities including electromagnetic, power, and timing analysis Required qualifications: - Strong ability to follow and understand cryptographic research - Deep understanding of classical symmetric and asymmetric cryptography - Knowledge of post-quantum cryptography (PQC) - Understanding of side-channel attacks (EM, power, timing) and mitigation strategies - Disciplined approach to writing correct, highly efficient code Preferred qualifications include low-level programming experience (C and Assembly), embedded systems architecture knowledge, experience optimizing algorithms for resource-constrained environments, familiarity with fault injection attacks, and hands-on lab equipment experience (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
