Rowspace is seeking its first dedicated Corporate IT and Security Engineer to build and own the systems, controls, and operations that keep the company secure and productive as it scales. You will have broad, hands-on ownership across corporate IT and security infrastructure. Your responsibilities span employee device management (laptops, mobile, identity, access), SaaS application administration, corporate network security (office networks, Wi-Fi, firewalls, DNS, VPNs, zero-trust access), and security operations including monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response. You'll establish onboarding and offboarding workflows, maintain device and application inventories, run SOC 2 compliance operations, conduct access reviews, and manage vendor security assessments. In a typical week, you might deploy device-management policies, automate workflows, improve SSO configuration, harden office networks, resolve security findings, collect compliance evidence, respond to customer security questionnaires, or help teams safely adopt new tools like AI applications. You'll partner closely with Engineering on threat modeling, penetration testing, application-security standards, product security, and cloud infrastructure. You'll also build automations to make IT, security, and compliance processes faster and more reliable, and serve as the first point of contact for employee IT and security questions. This role requires balancing security, usability, and speed in a fast-moving environment. You'll work across the entire company and coordinate with Engineering, People, Operations, and external security partners. REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years of experience in corporate IT, systems administration, information security, security operations, or related roles - Hands-on experience managing identity providers, SSO, MFA, MDM, endpoints, and enterprise SaaS applications - Experience operating in a primarily macOS environment - Experience with employee provisioning, access reviews, asset management, and onboarding/offboarding - Experience supporting a SOC 2 program, including control operation, evidence collection, and audit coordination - Working knowledge of network security (segmentation, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, secure access) - Familiarity with application-security practices (threat modeling, secure development, dependency scanning, vulnerability management, penetration testing) - Ability to work with engineers on technical security risks without owning product development - Working knowledge of endpoint security, incident response, vulnerability management, and vendor risk - Ability to automate workflows with scripting, APIs, or modern automation tools - Good judgment balancing security, usability, and speed - Clear written communication and reliable operational follow-through - Comfort owning a broad function and solving problems directly in a fast-moving company NICE TO HAVE: - Experience as an early IT or security hire at a growing software company - Experience supporting a fintech company or another regulated industry - Experience with Okta, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Kandji, Rippling, CrowdStrike, Cloudflare, Drata, or similar platforms - Experience responding to customer security questionnaires and enterprise diligence requests - Familiarity with cloud identity and security in AWS, Azure, or GCP - Experience using AI and automation to improve internal operations - Experience working with managed IT, compliance, or security providers
