Instructure is seeking a Corporate Accounting Manager to lead financial operations for a privately held SaaS company. This is a hands-on management role combining strategic leadership with deep technical accounting expertise.
You will manage a distributed global team of staff accountants, mentor team members, and drive cross-departmental collaboration. You'll own critical month-end and quarter-end close processes, including P&L expense accruals, payroll accounting, royalty accounting, fixed asset and lease accounting, and other specialized accounting functions. You'll prepare and review reconciliations for 18+ subsidiaries and 130+ material accounts, maintaining SOX-compliant internal controls and audit-ready workpapers.
A key part of this role is championing process improvement and AI integration—actively implementing and managing AI agents to automate close tasks and drive operational efficiencies. You'll also lead cross-functional ad hoc projects tied to growth, systems implementations, and M&A integrations, serving as a strategic partner to the business rather than a pure reporting function.
The role is based in the MST time zone with potential annual travel to Salt Lake City, UT. Full-time position; overtime may be required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- CPA highly preferred
- Advanced accounting acumen with proven track record of meticulous workpapers and rigorous attention to detail
- Exceptional leadership skills to manage global personnel and complex financial processes independently
- Critical thinking and solution-focused mentality to implement operational efficiencies and resolve discrepancies
- Strong project management abilities to oversee multiple workflows, process improvements, M&A integrations, and audit deliverables simultaneously
- Experience with NetSuite, FloQast, Coupa, and/or Brex preferred
- Experience with or strong willingness to learn AI agents for automating close procedures
- Advanced Excel modeling skills with flawless data integrity and calculation accuracy
- Deep understanding of GAAP accounting and commitment to continuous learning
- Extensive experience reconciling complex balance sheet accounts
