Canva is seeking a Corporate Accounting Manager to join its rapidly scaling finance team in Sydney. This is a hybrid role based at Canva's flagship Sydney campus in Surry Hills, with flexibility to work remotely and collaborate in-person as needed.
In this role, you will lead and develop a team of corporate accountants while managing key accounting functions including cash management, intercompany transactions, lease accounting, accruals, and acquisition integrations. You'll serve as both a reviewer and preparer depending on complexity, and represent the corporate accounting team during Australian business hours. You'll work closely with broader accounting teams, tax, and key business partners to support the month-end close process, troubleshoot issues, and ensure accurate and reliable accounting outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching, and developing local corporate accountants with focus on performance management and career development
- Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve month-end close issues and clarify accounting treatment
- Managing integration of accounting processes and systems for acquired entities
- Completing month-end close activities including journals, reconciliations, and flux analysis
- Maintaining effective internal controls and documentation
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to strengthen close efficiency and accuracy
- Supporting broader accounting projects and system enhancements

Requirements:
- Proven experience managing and developing high-performing accounting teams with strong coaching and mentorship skills
- Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with FP&A, business leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong team player with track record on high-performing teams; ability to support culture of growth through knowledge sharing and innovative problem-solving
- Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environment; adapts quickly to changing circumstances and competing priorities
- Subject matter expert who drives business process transformation and change management
- Extensive experience establishing and standardizing policies, processes, procedures, and SOX-compliant controls
- Proficiency with NetSuite or other Enterprise ERP and adjacent tools
- Nice to have: experience with Floqast, AI tools, Canva product, and global accounting teams
