GitLab is seeking an Intermediate Fullstack Engineer to join the Growth team, working on the self-serve funnel that converts users into paying customers. You'll own the full user journey from first visit through sign-up, trial, and first purchase on both GitLab.com and self-managed GitLab, combining fullstack engineering with product thinking and experimentation. In this role, you will design, build, and iterate on A/B tests and experiments to increase first purchases. You'll implement backend features in Ruby on Rails and frontend experiences in Vue.js, focusing on registration, trial, onboarding, and in-product upgrade flows. You'll analyze experiment results with Data Analysts to decide what to keep, iterate on, or roll back based on customer outcomes. Collaboration is central: you'll work closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Data Analysts to define hypotheses and success metrics before shipping, then measure results against those metrics. You'll also maintain and improve the experimentation framework and tooling to increase experiment throughput, coordinate with other engineering teams like Fulfillment to remove purchase barriers, and document decisions and share results asynchronously across distributed teams. The Growth team operates fully remotely and asynchronously across multiple regions, guided by GitLab's values of transparency and iteration. GitLab is the intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps, trusted by more than 50% of the Fortune 100 and 50 million registered users. REQUIREMENTS: - Professional experience developing with Ruby on Rails and modern JavaScript - Solid Git, feature development, and deployment workflows - Experience working with relational databases and understanding of web performance optimization - Track record of shipping features to production and owning them after release - Ability to use product data to decide what to build, keep, or roll back - Ability to document decisions and share updates asynchronously with distributed teams - Ability to organize work, seek and apply feedback, and collaborate inclusively with diverse teammates - Preferred (not required): Vue.js, PostgreSQL, A/B testing, feature flags, experimentation frameworks, or experience with SaaS sign-up, trial, billing, or checkout flows
