Salary: USD 100,000 - 147,000 / annual

Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Controls Engineer III to join the Rocket Motor Systems team in McHenry, Mississippi. The team is designing and commissioning automated equipment for high-rate production of Solid Rocket Motors. In this role, you will own the SCADA layer that production depends on, from PLC integration through Ignition applications and plant floor visibility. Key responsibilities include: - Design, commission, and upgrade control systems for Solid Rocket Motor production equipment - Write and debug Siemens PLC code with emphasis on organized, structured, documented, maintainable, and reusable code for high-volume manufacturing - Follow internal standards for control systems architectures, regulatory compliance, and safety buyoffs - Integrate internal and external FactoryOS software into automation equipment and production lines - Build and maintain SCADA applications in Ignition, including tag architecture, Perspective screens, alarming, and historian configuration - Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation failures, ensuring rapid resolution and long-term reliability - Install, configure, and tune servo drives and VFDs - Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, reduce downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering - 2+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment - Proficient in Siemens PLC programming (Ladder and Structured Text) - Proficient in servo drive and VFD configuration, PID tuning, STO/SS - Strong knowledge of ethernet-based communication protocols (ProfiNET, ProfiSAFE, Ethernet IP) - Proficient with electrical component selection and solid foundation in wire sizing, circuit protection, and heat management in control cabinets - Experience developing SCADA applications in Ignition (Perspective, tag architecture, and historian) - Experience performing Risk Assessments and Controls Safety Design - Proficient with pneumatic concepts and design - Familiar with NFPA70e electrical safety practices - Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - 4+ years of experience in controls and automation in a production environment - Experience with control panel layout, electrical component selection, and cable routing - Electrical troubleshooting up to 600VAC
