Salary: USD 165,000 - 185,000 / annual
David is a high-protein, low-calorie food brand founded by Peter Rahal (former CEO of RXBAR), focused on developing craveable, blood-sugar-friendly foods. The company is at a pivotal growth stage and seeking a Contract Manufacturing Manager to own relationships and performance with key co-manufacturing partners.
In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for co-manufacturing partners, managing performance across critical KPIs including production attainment, on-time-in-full (OTIF), right-first-time (RFT), throughput, yield, scrap, cost per pound, quality, and complaint rates. You will lead quarterly business reviews, establish clear metrics and accountability, and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for performance gaps.
You will develop deep operational understanding of each partner's capabilities, constraints, and economics to inform production allocation and manufacturing strategy. Working cross-functionally with Planning, Quality, R&D, Procurement, Finance, Fulfillment, and Commercialization, you will manage short- and long-term capacity planning to support the company's growth trajectory. You will identify and lead high-impact operational initiatives, build analytical tools and reporting for visibility, and drive continuous improvement in throughput, yield, quality, service, and cost.
The role requires strong relationship management skills, high ownership mentality, and the ability to influence and drive results through external partners without direct authority. You will communicate clearly and directly, navigate difficult conversations, and maintain accountability in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
Requirements include 5+ years in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment (manufacturing, operations, supply chain, or high-growth startup preferred), demonstrated ability to build trust while holding partners to high performance standards, strong judgment and attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset with a track record of translating opportunities into measurable results.
