Base is America's next-generation power company deploying a distributed battery network to transform the centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. As Content Lead, you will shape how homeowners and prospective employees get to know Base during a period of rapid growth into new markets.
You'll split your time between two content pillars: member content (website, blog, email, SMS) that guides homeowners through the decision to join Base, and employer brand content that tells the stories of the engineers, operators, and field teams building the company to attract top talent.
Key responsibilities include owning content across the customer acquisition journey from website and blog through email, text, and social channels; leading Base's employer brand narrative; setting voice and editorial standards for the organization; building content distribution strategy; partnering with lifecycle, growth, recruiting, product, and design teams to transform their work into compelling content; and conducting interviews and research to identify stories worth telling.
The Marketing team works side-by-side with sales, product, and design to make a new kind of power company feel simple, credible, and obvious to audiences who may have never considered where their power comes from. You'll operate in a startup environment where priorities shift quickly and the role may expand based on business needs.
Base values first-principles thinking, operating at pace, direct feedback, ownership, strong opinions held loosely, commitment to mission, and balancing grit with collaboration and celebration. The company works in-person and is all-in on the mission of rebuilding the grid.
