Fudo is a restaurant operating system serving tens of thousands of restaurants across Latin America. The company provides management software, mobile applications, and a proprietary payments platform, operating as the financial and operational backbone for restaurants in Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil. Fudo is self-funded and growing sustainably without venture capital.
The Consumers vertical focuses on the end-customer experience—how diners interact with restaurant ordering and reservation products used by millions. You will be the technical owner of this consumer-facing product, responsible for the full stack from mobile app to database.
This is a founding engineer role combining product and engineering responsibilities. Rather than executing a predefined backlog, you will participate in defining the business problem, validating hypotheses, and making scope decisions from day one. The technical challenge spans two domains: (1) mobile—building a mass-market consumer product with frequent releases, real-device performance optimization, notifications, payments, and intuitive UX; (2) backend—supporting that product on a multi-tenant platform designed for restaurants, with implications for identity, permissions, privacy, and performance.
Key responsibilities include: building the end-to-end consumer product (app and backend services); designing the consumer-facing API on a multi-tenant restaurant platform; defining the client stack (cross-platform vs. embedded web vs. native); operating the mobile release cycle (builds, app stores, feature flags, gradual rollout, crash rates, startup times); modeling and building the data layer (schemas, indexes, query performance, service integrations); instrumenting and measuring product analytics (funnels, activation, retention); working with Claude Code and AI agents to determine appropriate delegation vs. manual review; and translating product vision into technical architecture.
You are expected to work autonomously with responsibility and commitment while collaborating as part of a team. You will be a technical reference point and raise the standard for how Fudo builds consumer products. The team ships to production multiple times daily with minimal bureaucracy, supported by strong engineering processes and systems.
