Neo4j is seeking a Consulting Engineer to work with enterprise customers across Latin America, based in São Paulo. You will lead and contribute to Neo4j implementations throughout the full project lifecycle—from initial design through production deployment—partnering with customer engineering teams and Neo4j's Principal and Senior Consulting Engineers.
In this role, you will act as a trusted technical advisor and hands-on subject matter expert on consulting engagements. Key responsibilities include designing and implementing graph data models that represent complex relationships and support high-performance querying; architecting solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements; and supporting modern data and AI architectures by structuring graph data for advanced analytics, search, and emerging AI patterns such as RAG and GraphRAG.
You will collaborate with customer AI and data teams to integrate Neo4j into modern orchestration frameworks like LangChain and LlamaIndex, provide guidance on data engineering best practices and data ingestion optimization, and develop solution architectures addressing customer project requirements. You'll translate complex technical concepts into clear guidance for customer engineers and stakeholders, contribute to solution proposals and technical recommendations, and train customer teams on Neo4j best practices and graph development techniques.
You will work collaboratively with Neo4j's sales, sales engineering, and support teams to ensure successful customer outcomes. Travel may be required depending on customer engagement needs.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred); 3+ years designing and developing enterprise-class applications with focus on data-driven or analytics systems; strong experience in data modeling and designing data structures for complex applications with familiarity across relational, NoSQL, or graph databases; experience designing scalable software architectures in modern development environments; practical data engineering experience; hands-on competence in at least one of Java, JavaScript, Python, Go, or C#; experience deploying applications on Linux, Docker, or Kubernetes. Fluency in Brazilian Portuguese and English required; Spanish fluency or advanced proficiency is a strong plus.
