Neo4j is seeking a Consulting Engineer to work with enterprise customers on graph database implementations. You will partner with customer engineering teams and Neo4j's Principal/Senior Consulting Engineers to design graph data models and deliver successful Neo4j implementations from initial design through production deployment.
Key responsibilities include leading Neo4j implementations across the full project lifecycle, acting as a technical subject matter expert on consulting engagements, and designing graph data models that support complex relationships and high-performance querying. You will architect solutions meeting both functional and non-functional requirements, support modern data and AI architectures by structuring graph data for advanced analytics and RAG patterns, and collaborate with customer AI and data teams to integrate Neo4j into frameworks like LangChain and LlamaIndex.
You will provide guidance on data engineering best practices, develop solution architectures addressing customer technical requirements, translate complex concepts for customer engineers and stakeholders, and contribute to proposals, SOWs, and technical recommendations. Training and mentoring customer teams on Neo4j best practices is also part of the role. You'll work collaboratively with Neo4j sales, sales engineering, and support teams to ensure successful outcomes, with travel required based on customer engagement needs.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred), 3+ years designing and developing enterprise-class applications with focus on data-driven or analytics systems, strong data modeling experience across relational, NoSQL, or graph databases, and practical experience in data engineering. You must have hands-on competence in at least one of Java, JavaScript, Python, Go, or C#, experience deploying on modern platforms (Linux, Docker, Kubernetes), familiarity with Git and development workflows, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and ability to work independently in a remote, cross-functional organization.
Bonus qualifications include 2+ years in Professional Services, industry experience in Financial Services, Life Sciences, Manufacturing, or Technology, prior work with graph databases, familiarity with Snowflake or Databricks, NoSQL/relational experience, data science project background, and cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).
