Cohesity, a leader in AI-powered data security serving over 13,600 enterprise customers including 85+ Fortune 100 companies, is seeking an experienced Consultant to join its Professional Services team in Singapore. This client-facing role supports projects across the Asia-Pacific region and requires deep expertise in Cohesity Data Protect or NetBackup, with proven success delivering solutions in VMware and cloud environments.
You will partner closely with presales, delivery, engineering, systems engineering, support, and customer success teams to design, deploy, and optimize backup and recovery solutions aligned with customer business goals.
Key responsibilities include:
**Client Engagement & Solution Design:** Partner with presales and delivery teams to understand customer requirements. Design tailored backup and recovery architectures using Cohesity Data Protect or NetBackup. Conduct technical workshops and present architecture recommendations, sizing, deployment strategies, and risk assessments to technical and executive stakeholders.
**Implementation & Optimization:** Lead deployment, configuration, and optimization of Cohesity Data Protect environments across Windows, Linux, VMware, and cloud/hybrid platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Design and deploy backup strategies for containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker) supporting infrastructure modernization. Troubleshoot advanced technical issues during and post-deployment. Proactively optimize client environments for reliability, efficiency, performance, scalability, and compliance.
**Delivery & Knowledge Transfer:** Deliver timely technical support and comprehensive project documentation including architecture designs, configuration guides, and operational best practices. Maintain project scope, timeline, and budget. Share field feedback with Product Management and Engineering on deployment challenges, feature gaps, and customer requirements. Train and mentor client teams for smooth handover. Regional and occasional international travel required (approximately 50%).
**Requirements:**
- Hands-on expertise in Windows and Linux administration
- Working knowledge of databases (Oracle, SQL, MongoDB, SAP), storage systems (NAS, SAN, Object Storage, NFS, SMB, S3), networking (IP planning, VLANs, routing, firewalls, load balancing, DNS, NTP, MTU, multisite), compute/virtualization (VMware, vSphere/vCenter, Hyper-V, Kubernetes, OpenShift), security (AD, LDAP, SSO, MFA, RBAC, least-privilege access, key management, encryption, ransomware recovery), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, archival, recovery patterns, hybrid cloud)
- Experience with data protection, data security, data management, disaster recovery/business continuity, and database protection and recovery
- Scripting/automation experience (Python, Ansible, ServiceNow)
- Strong client communication, relationship-building, and troubleshooting/analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Hands-on professional services or client-facing experience with Cohesity Data Protect or NetBackup; prior consulting experience preferred
- Relevant certifications (VMware, AWS, Azure) a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field with at least 5 years of professional services experience
- Fluent spoken and written English; Mandarin, conversational Japanese, and/or Korean preferred (handling North Asia customers)
- Ability to obtain Singapore Government security clearance for handling classified information
- Ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and support decision-making
