You will join the Payment Squad as a Backend Engineer, contributing to BlaBlaCar's payment infrastructure that underpins reliability, trust, and seamless user experience. The squad manages the complete payment lifecycle, fraud prevention, and regulatory compliance across the platform.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and maintaining scalable backend systems that support the full payment lifecycle
- Integrating new payment methods and working with multiple payment service providers
- Building robust fraud detection and prevention mechanisms
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations across 21 countries
- Collaborating with frontend engineers to deliver end-to-end payment experiences
- Participating in system reliability, performance optimization, and incident response
You will report to the Payment Squad's Engineering Manager and work alongside a team of 10 backend and frontend engineers plus a dedicated Product Manager. The role emphasizes ownership of payment experience quality and cross-functional collaboration to ensure users have a smooth, trustworthy transaction experience.
