Salary: USD 160,000 - 190,000 / annual
BETA Technologies is seeking a Configuration and Lifecycle Management Team Lead to lead the development and implementation of aerospace configuration management processes for electric aircraft development and certification. This role is critical to ensuring full lifecycle management of aircraft configuration in compliance with FAA regulations (14 CFR Part 21) and industry standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement company-level aerospace configuration management plans, processes, and documentation for new aircraft platforms
- Maintain type and production design configurations throughout the full service life of products
- Establish processes to ensure configuration accuracy and FAA audit readiness
- Ensure Airworthiness documentation reflects changes in aircraft configuration status
- Lead Problem Resolution and Change Control Boards
- Coordinate change scope and effectivity definitions for hardware and software across all aircraft and verification assets
- Build and develop the configuration management team to support aircraft development and certification schedules
- Train stakeholders in BETA's configuration and change management processes
- Develop and maintain configuration software systems (3Dx, Polarian)
- Support standardization of design data and model-based solutions
The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of aerospace configuration management and/or commercial aircraft certification experience. Required qualifications include deep knowledge of FAA advisory circulars and requirements, understanding of FAA conformity and test program execution, and experience with ARP 4754A and EIA-649 standards. Background in engineering, supply chain, quality, and product development processes is essential. Preferred qualifications include end-to-end certification and launch experience for newly developed aircraft, RTCA DO-178C or DO-254 requirements knowledge, and strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
