PsiQuantum is building the first useful fault-tolerant quantum computers using silicon photonics architecture. The company has secured $1 billion in funding (2025), a $100 million Letter of Intent from the U.S. Department of Commerce under the CHIPS and Science Act, and a $125 million DARPA agreement. PsiQuantum is constructing utility-scale quantum systems in Brisbane and Chicago, and partners with Fortune 500 companies including Airbus, Lockheed Martin, Mercedes-Benz, and Boehringer Ingelheim. The Computational Chemist role sits within the Quantum Solutions team and focuses on developing and optimizing computational chemistry algorithms for modern heterogeneous computing platforms, particularly AMD and NVIDIA GPUs. You will work at the intersection of computational chemistry, electronic-structure theory, high-performance computing, and fault-tolerant quantum computing. Key responsibilities include: - Accelerating computationally demanding chemistry workloads and improving end-to-end computational pipelines - Enabling efficient integration between classical HPC/GPU calculations and emerging quantum-computing workflows - Identifying performance bottlenecks in scientific software and designing scalable numerical algorithms - Translating state-of-the-art computational chemistry methods into robust, high-performance implementations - Collaborating with computational chemists, quantum algorithm researchers, and scientific software developers This is a hands-on technical role for someone with deep expertise in computational chemistry, GPU acceleration (CUDA, HIP, or similar), and scientific software development. You will directly impact how quantum computing solves real-world problems in pharmaceuticals, materials science, energy, and finance.
