The Components Engineer I (EEE Parts) role is a hands-on technical position supporting the full lifecycle of electronic, electrical, and electromechanical (EEE) components for high-technology space programs. You will work across parts selection, parts management, parts creation, and quality control processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop component requirements and conduct parts selection for space and defense applications
- Address component obsolescence and manage part standardization initiatives
- Coordinate with design engineers, supply chain, quality, and reliability teams to ensure adherence to design requirements and quality standards
- Drive part reuse by recommending existing components from the database when appropriate
- Maintain ECAD (Electronic Computer-Aided Design) libraries and manage new parts introduction
- Review Product Change Notices (PCNs) and GIDEP (Government-Industry Data Exchange Program) alerts to assess impact on components in use
- Manage part number systems and data management
- Engage with component manufacturers and distributors on product roadmaps
This role requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in components engineering, parts management, or related disciplines. You'll be part of a mission-driven team building transformative technologies for space and national security.
