Voyager Technologies is a space, defense, and national security technology company developing mission-critical solutions for advanced propulsion and vehicle systems. The Component Test Engineer will be responsible for developing and evolving Voyager's propulsion testing capabilities, with active involvement in component and vehicle test campaigns.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support integrated, qualification, and acceptance testing of vehicle components and assemblies, including propulsion systems, avionics hardware, pressurant systems, and structural components
- Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures, design and analyze test fixturing for on and off-vehicle testing
- Write test reports and conduct test readiness and data reviews
- Collaborate with Systems Engineering to develop and maintain verification matrices and requirement traceability
- Ensure flight-worthiness of system solutions prior to test and flight operations
- Work with Structures, Mechanisms, Integration and Test leadership to optimize vehicle testing schedules
- Support external supplier testing as the responsible engineer for assigned components/systems
- Design and implement instrumentation strategies to capture vehicle and component performance while balancing cost, fidelity, and timeline constraints
- Lead or participate in post-test data reviews, including failure analysis and design solution development
- Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
- Generate discrepancy documentation and ensure test discipline compliance
- Ensure safe test execution across various environments
Required qualifications: B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or related field; 3-5+ years of component, integrated vehicle, or hardware development testing experience; working knowledge of fluid components (valves, regulators, actuators, fittings); experience with sensors, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems; ability to identify and procure test equipment.
Preferred qualifications include VTVL vehicle design knowledge, familiarity with MIL STD-1522 and NASA standards, systems engineering experience, DO-160/DO-178 familiarity, hands-on qualification testing experience, and experience with complex systems including cryogenic propellants and high-pressure gas systems.
