Kin Insurance is seeking a Compliance Data & Reporting Analyst to build and maintain the regulatory and compliance reporting infrastructure as the company scales into new states and launches new products. This is a newly created role reporting to the Compliance Reporting & Data Lead. You will partner across Compliance, Finance, Product, and Data Engineering to ensure that regulatory filings, audit submissions, and financial reports are accurate, complete, and defensible. Your work directly protects Kin's ability to operate in current and future states. Key responsibilities include: - Translating regulatory and financial reporting requirements into report logic and data definitions - Developing, maintaining, and updating regulatory and compliance reports for state filings, market conduct exams, and audits - Validating data used in compliance submissions against agreed checks and escalating exceptions - Owning reporting readiness for new products and state launches, including post-launch data validation - Investigating reporting discrepancies and data anomalies, isolating root causes, and driving remediation - Writing and executing validation tests to confirm data pipelines produce accurate output - Building and maintaining automated reporting processes, data-quality checks, reconciliations, and alerts - Creating and maintaining clear documentation of report logic, data definitions, controls, and validation procedures - Producing and reconciling data feeds for month-end close and resolving variances - Researching data and assembling supporting documentation for regulator and auditor responses Success in the first 6–12 months means regulatory filings go out on time and accurately with audit-ready documentation, new product launches and state expansions have clear compliance reporting requirements with validated data feeds, recurring reporting exceptions drop meaningfully through automated checks, and clear step-by-step documentation is in place for all reports you own. REQUIREMENTS: - 2+ years of experience in data analysis, compliance reporting, insurance regulatory reporting, financial reporting, audit, or similar analytical role - Working proficiency in SQL, including joins, aggregation, and queries that test for completeness, duplicates, and reconciliation breaks - Experience translating business and regulatory reporting requirements into structured data needs - Track record of investigating data discrepancies, isolating root causes, and driving remediation to completion - Precise, detail-oriented working style with well-organized documentation that colleagues can follow independently - Ability to manage multiple recurring reporting deadlines without sacrificing accuracy - Clear written and verbal communication with both technical partners (Data Engineering) and non-technical partners (Compliance, Finance) BONUS QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience in P&C insurance industry - Familiarity with Looker or comparable BI tools - Familiarity with data pipeline and data-platform tools such as Databricks, Airflow, or AWS tools - Experience with JIRA or similar work-management tools - Accounting, finance, or audit experience - Experience developing automated data-quality checks, reconciliations, or reporting processes
