Brightline, selected by the State of California to provide free virtual behavioral health services to families with children ages 0–12, is seeking a Community Outreach & Events Lead to drive adoption of BrightLife Kids across Southern California. This is a high-autonomy, field-based role reporting to senior leadership, designed for a seasoned professional who thrives on building strategic partnerships and influencing public health strategy.
You will serve as the primary face and advocate for BrightLife Kids in the Los Angeles region, operating with significant independence to identify opportunities, contribute to program design, and partner with county health officials, school district leadership, and community-based organizations. The role blends strategic partnership development with hands-on community engagement.
Key responsibilities include: developing comprehensive outreach and marketing strategies tailored to diverse demographics and cultures; building and nurturing long-term relationships with senior external stakeholders; leading high-visibility in-person events, webinars, and school fairs; identifying service gaps and market opportunities; navigating complex public health and school-based systems; managing a regional partnership pipeline using Salesforce; tracking key metrics and reporting progress to leadership; and continuously gathering insights to optimize engagement strategies.
You will spend significant time in the field interacting directly with families and communities, providing education about child mental health, distributing materials, and conducting webinars. This role requires the ability to persuade and influence varied audiences—from grassroots community groups to executive-level public health boards—around shared goals for child mental well-being.
Required qualifications: minimum 5 years of professional experience in community engagement, public health, health promotion, or related field; demonstrated ability to operate independently and manage complex projects with minimal oversight; proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM tools; deep understanding of communication strategies and expertise engaging specific demographics and cultures; experience navigating public health and school-based systems; strong organizational skills; excellent interpersonal and communication abilities; comfort with public speaking and event participation; proactive growth mindset. Spanish bilingual proficiency is preferred. Experience in cold outreach, relationship building, high-touch nurture campaigns, and online research methods is valued.
