Kraken Pro is seeking a Community Lead to build and grow the community around its professional trading platform. This role sits at the intersection of product, community, and trading expertise—you'll be a participant in the trenches across Discord, Telegram, X, TradingView, Reddit, and other channels where serious traders congregate, not a brand account monitoring from the sidelines.
You will own community strategy and execution across multiple dimensions: be the fastest voice in the room when market events happen, building standing and credibility through speed and accuracy. Establish and run an ambassador and power-user program targeting market makers, quant desks, and high-volume traders who will provide honest product feedback and amplify the platform. Run public-facing events and formats—AMAs, live trading sessions, feature launches, competitions, post-mortems—owning the entire experience. Serve as the bridge between community and product, surfacing issues with evidence and closing the loop by communicating resolutions back to the community. Create high-quality content that resonates with a technical, skeptical audience: threads on microstructure, feature teardowns, and release notes that read like they were written by traders, not marketing. Finally, measure and report on community health metrics: sentiment, share of voice, community-sourced signups, and retention of high-value accounts.
This is a role for someone who trades actively, understands the nuances of crypto markets and trading infrastructure, and has built community from the ground up in technical, skeptical spaces. You'll operate with autonomy and judgment, making real-time decisions without approval chains, because you understand where the line is and don't need a committee to find it. You'll thrive in a fast-shipping, constantly reorganizing environment and have the thick skin to handle a public-facing role in crypto without losing your instincts or going corporate.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Active trader with real positions and market experience; comfortable discussing funding rates, maker/taker economics, slippage, latency, and other technical trading concepts.
- 3+ years of community or social media management for a technical, skeptical audience (crypto, fintech, gaming, or developer tools experience all count).
- Strong writing ability: short-form content that lands and long-form content that holds up under scrutiny from sophisticated readers.
- Thick skin, good judgment, and de-escalation skills; ability to push back when appropriate without going corporate.
- Proven track record of building community from a standing start, not just maintaining existing accounts.
- Comfort operating with ambiguity and autonomy in a fast-moving, constantly reorganizing company.
