Salary: USD 165,000 - 195,000 / annual

The company serves hundreds of customers across 30+ states and two countries, impacting over 125 million people. This is a founding role with national scope, responsible for building and leading Peregrine's community engagement function. The role sits at the intersection of government affairs, communications, public relations, and go-to-market strategy, ensuring the company and government partners navigate public deployments with credibility, transparency, and trust. Key responsibilities include: leading community engagement strategies for deployments by mapping civic and political landscapes, identifying stakeholders, conducting community listening, and preparing for public hearings and high-visibility moments; building a scalable community engagement playbook with approaches for stakeholder mapping, coalition building, and responding to concerns; translating complex technology into accessible language grounded in local priorities; shaping public narrative by monitoring discourse, media coverage, and stakeholder sentiment; building trusted relationships across the civic ecosystem including community organizations, civil rights advocates, faith leaders, and local media; supporting government partners through high-stakes civic moments; and ensuring community perspectives inform company communications and deployment strategy. Success metrics include deployments supported by credible engagement strategies, a scalable playbook applicable nationwide, strong relationships with community leaders in key markets, better-prepared government partners, clear public understanding of Peregrine's technology and impact, and early identification and response to emerging concerns and misinformation. The ideal candidate has 8+ years navigating local or state political environments, public affairs, government relations, campaigns, or community engagement. Required qualifications include deep understanding of civic decision-making processes, proven coalition-building and high-stakes conversation navigation skills, strong relationships with community organizations and civic stakeholders, exceptional communication abilities, entrepreneurial mindset, strong judgment in politically sensitive environments, and experience with public safety or government technology. Relevant background includes service as Chief of Staff to elected officials, political campaign manager, public affairs leader, policy director, or community engagement lead on high-visibility initiatives.
