Fluidstack is building civilization-scale compute infrastructure for AI at unprecedented speed and scale. The company is acquiring power, designing and operating data centers, and rethinking every layer of the stack to deliver 10s to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else. The Supply Chain team is responsible for supplying gigawatt-scale compute infrastructure—the largest build-out of compute in history. The team qualifies and dual-sources across every critical equipment category, with lead-time and capacity thresholds tied directly to the forward build pipeline. Supply chain is positioned as a key competitive advantage: the company's modular build approach redefines speed in the industry, and it depends entirely on supply chain execution. As Commodity Manager for Mechanical, you will own multi-year commodity strategies for mechanical and cooling equipment categories including chillers, coolant distribution units, air handlers, pumps, piping, and heat rejection systems. You will build should-cost models that withstand supplier pushback and secure manufacturing capacity and lead times for long-lead mechanical equipment by locking slot reservations and delivery schedules against the forward build pipeline. Key responsibilities include negotiating and executing Master Supply Agreements, Long-Term Agreements, and pricing amendments in coordination with Legal and Finance, managing price reviews, escalation clauses, and cost-down commitments. You will run Quarterly Business Reviews and supplier scorecards tracking quality, on-time delivery, cost, and responsiveness. You will develop dual-source and geographic diversification plans to eliminate single-source risk and partner with Mechanical Engineering on specifications, standardization, and design-for-cost decisions to ensure every design change has a qualified supply base behind it. Fluidstack operates with full autonomy and ownership, insane urgency, first-principles reasoning, and a focus on building something that matters. The company is hiring people who care deeply about advancing AI infrastructure and human freedom. REQUIREMENTS: - Built and owned commodity strategies for mechanical or HVAC equipment (chillers, air handlers, pumps, liquid cooling systems) backed by should-cost models that survive supplier pushback - Negotiated complex, multi-year supply agreements and capacity reservations with mechanical OEMs across global markets - Used steel, copper, and refrigerant market data to structure escalation terms and get ahead of pricing swings - Run RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes end to end, from supplier qualification through contract signature - Tracked supplier performance with scorecards spanning quality, on-time delivery, and cost, and acted on data before slips reach the schedule - Worked inside ERP and procurement platforms (SAP, Oracle, Ariba, Coupa, or equivalent) to run sourcing events and spend analytics independently - Bonus: Mechanical engineering background, liquid cooling exposure, or sourcing experience in data center or hyperscale infrastructure environments
