Voyager Technologies is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to support the commissioning lifecycle for Voyager Energetics facility and infrastructure projects in Pueblo, CO. This role reports to the Mission Infrastructure Engineering Manager and is ideal for an engineer with 3–5 years of hands-on commissioning, systems verification, or construction experience who is ready to take on increasing technical ownership in a mission-driven environment.
Key responsibilities include:
• Support the full commissioning lifecycle—from design review through functional verification and operational handoff—contributing to commissioning plans, test scripts, and acceptance criteria under senior engineer direction.
• Participate in design and construction phase reviews with Facility Design Engineers, Process Engineers, Automation & Controls Engineers, Safety, and Compliance teams to identify commissioning requirements and flag potential installation or operational issues early.
• Maintain active presence on construction sites during the build phase, witnessing critical installations, verifying equipment and systems compliance with design specifications, and supporting punch list generation and tracking.
• Support pre-functional and functional testing across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, utility, and process control systems—executing test protocols, documenting results, and tracking deficiencies to closure.
• Work hands-on with contractors, subcontractors, technicians, controls engineers, and vendor representatives to troubleshoot issues and support collaborative solutions.
• Maintain commissioning documentation including test records, punch lists, deficiency reports, and as-commissioned facility records; support operational handoff through training materials and system verification packages.
• Collaborate cross-functionally across Mission Infrastructure Engineering disciplines and project stakeholders, building technical knowledge in systems verification, hazardous facility commissioning, and regulatory requirements.
Basic qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline with 3 years of commissioning/systems verification/construction experience (or 7 years hands-on experience without degree). Experience with commissioning, startup, or systems testing in industrial, construction, or manufacturing environments. Working knowledge of construction documentation, field verification, drawings, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and contractor submittals. Experience with punch list generation, tracking, and closure.
