Empathy is a venture-backed (Series C, $160M+ raised) platform transforming how families navigate life's difficult transitions—from bereavement to major life changes—by combining technology with compassionate human care. The company partners with leading employers, insurers, and financial institutions to deliver support at scale, currently serving over 50 million people across the US, Canada, and the UK. The Commercial Operations Senior Associate will serve as a core member of the Commercial Operations team, acting as the connective tissue behind Empathy's commercial growth. This is a high-impact individual contributor role with two primary focus areas: **Proving Empathy's Value:** Own the business value roadmap and demonstrate ROI across the organization. You will build frameworks and run analysis to track metrics that matter, partner with Sales and Client Success to understand what resonates with prospects and clients, collaborate with Product to design and run experiments on new features, coordinate cross-functional alignment forums, and develop repeatable infrastructure and best practices for ROI assets. **Driving Commercial Priorities:** Work alongside the COO and Principal of Commercial Operations on strategic initiatives and ad hoc priorities. You will drive planned and unplanned priorities across commercial operations, help shape goal-setting and reporting for the team, champion an experimentation mindset, coordinate team-building and culture initiatives, and lead AI adoption across divisions. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of professional experience in consulting, strategy, operations, or similarly structured fast-paced environments. You are a natural project and stakeholder manager who can break down complex, ambiguous challenges into component parts and drive them to completion across multiple functions without explicit direction. You are a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, genuinely excited about experimentation and data-driven decision-making. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential—you can translate complex frameworks into action for senior stakeholders. You are equally comfortable setting strategy and executing it. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor's degree, background in management consulting or early-stage SaaS, experience working with product/tech teams or on commercial strategy, experience building cross-functional programs from scratch, and comfort with AI, data, and analytics tools.
