Paytm is seeking a Collection Manager to lead collections operations across an assigned territory. The role involves managing a team of collection executives and field officers, driving collection targets, and ensuring effective portfolio management across overdue accounts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drive and achieve collection targets for assigned territory and portfolio
- Lead, manage, and motivate collection executives and field officers to meet business targets
- Monitor team productivity, performance, attendance, and daily collection activities
- Develop and implement collection strategies to improve recovery rates and control delinquency
- Review daily and monthly collection MIS and implement corrective actions
- Monitor collection agencies for adherence to processes and performance benchmarks
- Manage escalations related to overdue accounts and customer concerns
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, internal policies, and Code of Conduct
- Identify operational gaps, fraudulent practices, and risks; take corrective action
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor collection activities and team performance
- Collaborate with business, credit, risk, operations, and other stakeholders
- Drive capability building, coaching, and continuous improvement within the team
The Collections team is responsible for managing overdue accounts, driving recovery performance, monitoring collection teams and agencies, and ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
Requirements:
- Education: Graduate in any discipline
- Experience: 4+ years of relevant experience in collections and recovery management
- Proven experience in team handling and managing field collection teams
- Prior experience in banking, NBFC, fintech, or financial services preferred
- Experience managing field collection teams and collection agencies is an added advantage
- Strong target orientation with ability to drive team performance
- Good communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Understanding of collection processes, delinquency management, and agency management
- Ability to manage escalations in high-performance environment
- Proficiency in MS Excel, collection MIS, and reporting systems
