Impulse is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to secure and harden infrastructure across a multi-cloud environment (Azure Government, AWS, and GCP) supporting sensitive aerospace and defense workloads. This is a hands-on role focused on implementation and integration of security into engineering workflows.
Key responsibilities include:
- Securing and hardening cloud resources across Azure, AWS, and GCP
- Conducting security assessments, threat modeling, and internal audits on cloud infrastructure
- Monitoring and improving cloud security posture using tools like Defender for Cloud or CSPM platforms
- Implementing and maintaining IAM controls (RBAC, least privilege, conditional access)
- Integrating security checks into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps)
- Building and maintaining secure infrastructure using Terraform
- Automating security operations using scripting and infrastructure as code
- Supporting CMMC and NIST SP 800-171 compliance efforts, including control implementation and evidence collection
- Assisting with logging, monitoring, and detection integration (SIEM/XDR)
- Collaborating with DevOps, IT, and Information Assurance teams to resolve security issues and improve overall security posture
Required qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in cloud, security, DevOps, or infrastructure roles
- Hands-on experience with at least one cloud provider (Azure preferred)
- Experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code tools
- Familiarity with securing CI/CD pipelines
- Solid understanding of IAM, secrets management, and security best practices
- Working knowledge of CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, or similar compliance frameworks
