We are seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to join our Cloud Ops team. This is a hands-on infrastructure role focused on implementing, maintaining, and improving our cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Key responsibilities include:
- Implement and maintain cloud infrastructure in GCP under the direction of senior engineers
- Contribute to keeping cloud infrastructure scalable, secure, and highly available
- Build automation to reduce operational toil and support production incident recovery
- Troubleshoot issues and provide support for cloud infrastructure and observability tools
- Ensure cloud infrastructure compliance with security and regulatory standards
- Participate in incident response processes, monitoring, and alerting across the application stack
- Collaborate with the tech organization on infrastructure work, including workflow automation (crons, n8n, Airflow) that bridges infrastructure and business processes
- Participate in Ops team processes including outages, compliance, sprint work, metrics, and documentation
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of professional experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, preferably GCP
- Familiarity with observability tools (monitoring, logging, tracing)
- Working experience in at least one programming/scripting language (Python, Bash, Java, Go)
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Some exposure to network and application security practices
- Comfortable leveraging AI tools (Claude, Copilot, Gemini) to accelerate work
- Ability to work in a 24/7 on-call rotation
Nice-to-have skills include CI/CD pipelines and Git, collaboration with Data Engineering teams, and experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef).
