RobCo is building autonomous industrial robotics solutions combining hardware, software, and AI. The company is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join the Infrastructure & Data team as the fifth member, with a focus on GitLab, GitOps, and cloud infrastructure best practices.
In this role, you will own GitLab and GitOps practices across RobCo's engineering teams. You'll be responsible for building and maintaining GitOps workflows that make Git the single source of truth for infrastructure and application deployments. Key responsibilities include managing promotion flows across development and production environments, writing and maintaining Terraform infrastructure-as-code for AWS, building and improving CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, and ensuring platform reliability through monitoring, alerting, and incident response participation.
You'll also support engineering teams with deployments, environment setup, and cost visibility, while automating repetitive operational work and contributing to security best practices. The role offers exposure to multiple cloud environments (GCP and AWS), Kubernetes, MLOps, and robot infrastructure, with opportunities to learn from more specialized teammates and grow your technical scope.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of experience in Cloud, DevOps, Platform, or Infrastructure engineering
- Hands-on experience with GitOps best practices
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, ideally Terraform
- Familiarity with AWS, including EKS, RDS, S3, and EC2
- Scripting or programming skills in Python, Go, or similar language
- Basic understanding of software security fundamentals and willingness to deepen knowledge
NICE TO HAVE:
- Basic knowledge of Kubernetes (deploying, operating, troubleshooting workloads)
- Experience deploying to edge devices or managing fleets of distributed systems
- Experience with secrets tooling (External Secrets, Sealed Secrets, Vault)
