Develop Health is an AI-powered healthcare automation platform focused on accelerating access to life-saving medications by automating complex processes like benefit verification and prior authorization. You will serve as the Clinical Product & Operations Lead Pharmacist—the clinical anchor of customer experience and the bridge between customers, product, and engineering. In your first 3–6 months, you will own customer support for complex PA and BV cases, applying clinical judgment to navigate payer criteria and appeals. You'll build the support foundations by documenting workflows, writing playbooks and SOPs, and converting one-off fixes into repeatable processes. You'll be the voice of the customer with product and engineering, surfacing patterns in where customers get stuck and flagging errors in AI-generated determinations. You'll work directly with engineering to improve AI agents by feeding hard cases back into the product and shaping agentic workflows. Beyond 12 months, you'll own the operational playbook for how complex cases are handled internally and for customers, build and track impact metrics (resolution time, approval rates), become a defining voice in product evolution, design training for new pharmacists and technicians, and help shape how the pharmacy operations function scales across payers and enterprise partners. You'll manage customer communication across email, calls, and Slack with clarity and care, especially in high-stakes patient situations. Expect startup pace, real ambiguity, and significant ownership. The role is based in the Menlo Park office at least three days per week. REQUIREMENTS: - Licensed pharmacist (PharmD) with hands-on prior authorization and benefit verification experience - 3–5+ years in pharmacy operations, specialty pharmacy, or payer/PBM environment - Strong working knowledge of PA workflows, payer criteria, formularies, and PBM structures; ability to handle moderate-to-complex cases independently - Excellent written and verbal communication with real customer-facing experience explaining clinical concepts simply - Comfort working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and operations in a fast-paced startup - Availability to work on-site in Menlo Park at least three days per week BONUS: Experience building QA processes or supervising pharmacists and technicians; deep understanding of the patient access journey and common failure modes; comfort using AI tools to work faster.
