Hey Jane is a telehealth platform providing reproductive and sexual health care, including medication abortion treatment, to over 100,000 patients. The company operates a virtual care model with board-certified doctors, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, and patient care advocates delivering judgment-free care via text and phone.
As Clinical Operations Senior Manager, you will lead the operational infrastructure supporting Hey Jane's clinical care delivery across 24+ states. You'll own the clinical operations quarterly roadmap, translating company and clinical priorities into executable plans with visible progress tracking. Key responsibilities include:
• Building and owning the operational escalation playbook covering on-call, scheduling, and day-to-day operational issues, executed day-to-day by the Clinical Operations Specialist
• Partnering on "scaling the care model" projects and capacity-model support, validating staffing and capacity planning assumptions
• Owning licensing and credentialing prioritization across all operating states
• Maintaining the SOP library and audit/review process; keeping cross-team training materials current
• Designing clinical payroll processes (with ongoing execution by the Specialist)
• Coordinating feature launches to ensure clinic-facing changes land clearly with staff
• Partnering with clinical leadership on recruitment, hiring, and retention of clinical team members
• Rolling up your sleeves when needed to support the team across various operational levels
You'll work closely with Product, clinical leadership, and other cross-functional experts. The role requires comfort with ambiguity, strong systems thinking, and the ability to build playbooks and structure that others execute against. You'll be accountable for building systems that catch problems early and stepping in when they don't.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 5+ years of experience in clinical operations, clinical leadership, healthcare administration, or related operational role, ideally including startup or fast-growing environment experience
• Strong operator who can turn ambiguous priorities into clear, working plans and maintain execution over time
• Comfortable with scheduling, EHR, and other clinical operations systems; able to pick up new tools quickly including AI and data/analytics tools
• Fluent at translating company-level priorities (OKRs, quarterly plans) into executable team plans
• Clear understanding of decision boundaries—knowing when something is an operational call versus a clinical call
• Comfortable owning strategy and structure without personally executing every step; builds playbooks for others to run
• Strong cross-functional partner with Product, clinical leadership, and other experts
• Accountable mindset: builds systems that catch problems early and steps in when they don't
• Energized by complexity; comfortable building structure that holds across 24+ states with different licensing and coverage constraints
