Knowtex is building voice AI operating systems for clinicians to transform healthcare documentation at the point of care. Founded by Stanford AI scientists, the company is scaling rapidly across commercial health systems and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), with thousands of active clinician users today and plans to reach 150,000 users over the next 18 months.
As a Clinical Implementation Specialist, you will be the trusted clinical voice supporting VA clinicians and site points of contact (POCs) during this massive expansion. You'll report to the Director of Customer Delivery and work across the implementation team to ensure the technology integrates seamlessly into clinical workflows.
Your responsibilities span four key areas:
**Clinical Training & Education (40%):** Deliver live virtual training sessions to VA clinicians across specialties (physicians, NPs, PAs, pharmacists, mental health providers). Conduct train-the-trainer sessions to build capacity among Site POCs and Clinical Champions. Lead virtual office hours and provide one-on-one coaching for clinicians struggling with adoption. Adapt training delivery based on audience needs and track attendance, completion rates, and satisfaction scores. Identify and recruit Site Champions to accelerate adoption, develop engagement strategies, and facilitate peer learning sessions.
**Clinical Workflow Support & Advisory (30%):** Serve as the credible clinical contact for VA clinicians and site leadership. Conduct clinical workflow assessments to identify integration opportunities and barriers. Provide specialty-specific guidance on integrating ambient AI into documentation workflows. Monitor user feedback and star ratings to identify clinical quality concerns. Review AI-generated documentation examples with users to ensure clinical accuracy. Guide clinicians through workflow optimization and translate clinical practice realities into actionable feedback for product and engineering teams.
**Implementation Support & Adoption (25%):** Support site go-lives by providing clinical presence during launch periods. Conduct post-training check-ins and monitor activation rates and utilization patterns. Track user engagement metrics and identify struggling users or low-adoption sites requiring targeted support. Implement re-engagement strategies and conduct root cause analysis on recurring challenges. Escalate systemic barriers to leadership with recommended solutions.
**Data Collection & Reporting (5%):** Track and report on training metrics, clinical quality indicators, and qualitative feedback. Document best practices and case studies from high-performing sites. Prepare site-specific utilization summaries and contribute clinical insights to team reports.
You'll work with a collaborative team including Client Onboarding Success Strategists, Customer Support Program Managers, Implementation Managers, and clinical/product teams, with strong collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer. The role requires regular travel (20-30% initially, decreasing over time) to VA medical centers nationwide for site visits, go-lives, and training events, plus occasional travel to Knowtex offices.
**REQUIREMENTS**
Required Qualifications:
- Active clinical license (RN, NP, PA, PharmD, or equivalent) with ≥3 years of direct patient care experience
- Understanding of clinical documentation requirements, EHR workflows, and medical decision-making
- Experience with VA healthcare system strongly preferred (VistA/CPRS or Cerner/Oracle Health)
- Knowledge of multiple clinical specialties and care settings
- Understanding of HIPAA, medical-legal documentation standards, and quality requirements
- 2-3+ years developing or delivering clinical education or healthcare IT training
- Comfortable presenting to groups ranging from 5 to 100+ participants
- Experience with virtual training platforms (Zoom, Teams, WebEx)
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles and technical proficiency levels
- Track record of achieving high training satisfaction scores
- 2+ years supporting healthcare IT implementations or clinical process improvement initiatives
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders across complex healthcare organizations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities in fast-paced environments
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable learning new healthcare technologies quickly
- Basic proficiency with data analysis and dashboards (Excel/Google Sheets)
- Ability to troubleshoot workflow integration issues
- Experience with Learning Management Systems preferred
- Familiarity with virtual collaboration tools (Slack, SharePoint, project management software)
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build rapport and trust with clinicians quickly
- Strong active listening skills and empathy for clinician challenges

Strongly Preferred:
- Master's degree in Nursing, Health Administration, Public Health, Medical Education, or related field
- VA clinical experience (staff clinician, clinical educator, or clinical informaticist)
- Experience with ambient AI, clinical documentation improvement, or speech recognition technologies
- Instructional design certification or training
- Human-Centered Design (HCD) or Design Thinking training
- Lean/Six Sigma process improvement background
- Experience with implementation science frameworks (RE-AIM, CFIR)
