Salary: USD 90,000 - 130,000 / annual
Tempus is a precision medicine platform that uses AI to deliver real-time, actionable clinical insights to physicians. This role is a Clinical Account Executive responsible for driving strategic business expansion and collaboration opportunities within a defined territory, with a focus on major behavioral health clinics, top psychiatry practices, and academic medical centers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive strategic business expansion and collaboration with major behavioral health clinics, top 20 psychiatry practices, and key opinion leaders (KOLs) and academic medical centers in the territory
- Structure detailed strategic plans for acquiring and retaining new and existing clients
- Collaborate with VP of Sales, Regional Sales Directors, and District Sales Managers to achieve company goals
- Identify and develop partnership opportunities between prospective psychiatrists and Tempus
- Promote and drive adoption of Tempus' web-based molecular information tools
- Analyze competitive landscape and trends within assigned accounts; provide customer feedback to leadership
- Monitor sales performance against objectives
- Develop and implement comprehensive business plans for the territory, including budgets, travel planning, territory management, and goal setting
- Work cross-functionally across departments and represent Tempus culture internally and externally
- Frequent travel (>50%) throughout the territory as needed
Required Skills:
- Consultative selling expertise with ability to overcome objections and connect client needs to Tempus capabilities
- Comfortable selling at executive level (CEO, COO, CFO)
- Deep understanding of payor and reimbursement environment in molecular diagnostics
- Ability to work independently, communicate proactively, manage multiple projects, and prioritize under deadlines
- Strong knowledge of molecular diagnostics in behavioral health and competitive landscape
- Excellent negotiation and customer service skills
- Outstanding strategic account planning and listening/problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and Salesforce.com
- Advanced presentation skills and business acumen
- Ability to develop cross-functional relationships
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal direction
- Demonstrated integrity, respect, and trust
Required Education & Experience:
- B.S. in life science, biology, business, or marketing
- 2+ years of direct account management experience in molecular diagnostics with proven track record of meeting/exceeding expectations
- 3+ years of experience working with hospital systems, psychiatrists, large health systems, and behavioral health clinics
- Demonstrated measurable revenue generation at a diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology company
