Tempus is seeking a Clinical Account Executive to drive strategic business expansion in the behavioral health and psychiatry space across the Miami/Fort Lauderdale territory. The role focuses on precision medicine and AI-driven clinical insights, connecting real-world evidence to deliver actionable treatment recommendations to physicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive strategic business expansion and collaboration opportunities with major behavioral health clinics, top 20 psychiatry practices, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and Academic Medical Centers (AMCs) within the territory
- Structure detailed strategic plans for acquiring and retaining new and existing clients
- Collaborate with VP of Sales, Regional Sales Directors, and District Sales Managers to achieve company goals
- Identify and develop partnership opportunities between prospective psychiatrists and Tempus
- Promote and drive compliance with Tempus' web-based molecular information tools
- Analyze competitive landscape and account trends; provide customer feedback to leadership
- Monitor sales performance against objectives
- Develop and implement comprehensive territory business plans including budgets, travel, territory management, and goal setting
- Work cross-functionally across departments and represent Tempus culture internally and externally
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. in life science, biology, business, or marketing
- 2+ years of direct account management experience in molecular diagnostics with proven track record of meeting/exceeding expectations
- 3+ years of experience working with hospital systems, psychiatrists, large health systems, and behavioral health clinics
- Demonstrated measurable revenue generation at a diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology company
- Ability to engage in consultative selling and overcome objections
- Comfortable selling at executive level (CEO, COO, CFO)
- Keen understanding of payor and reimbursement environment in molecular diagnostics
- Strong understanding of molecular diagnostics in behavioral health and competitive landscape
- Excellent negotiation and customer service skills
- Outstanding strategic sales account planning and presentation skills
- Superior listening and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and Salesforce.com
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and prioritize critical deadlines
- Frequent travel (>50%) throughout territory required
- Impeccable communication skills, integrity, and ability to handle sensitive information
