Tempus is a precision medicine platform that uses AI to deliver real-time, actionable clinical insights to physicians. This role is a Clinical Account Executive responsible for driving strategic business expansion and collaboration opportunities across behavioral health and psychiatry in the Columbus/Cincinnati territory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive strategic expansion with major behavioral health clinics, top 20 psychiatry practices, and academic medical centers in the assigned territory
- Identify and develop partnerships between prospective psychiatrists and Tempus
- Structure detailed strategic plans for acquiring and retaining new and existing clients
- Collaborate with VP of Sales, Regional Sales Directors, and District Sales Managers to achieve company goals
- Promote and drive compliance with Tempus' web-based molecular information tools
- Analyze competitive landscape and provide customer feedback to leadership
- Monitor sales performance against objectives
- Develop and implement comprehensive territory business plans including budgets, travel, territory management, and goal setting
- Work cross-functionally across departments to support business objectives
- Represent Tempus culture to internal and external stakeholders
This is a territory management role requiring frequent travel (>50%) and strategic account planning at the executive level (CEO, COO, CFO). The successful candidate will drive measurable revenue generation while building long-term relationships with key opinion leaders and health systems.
Requirements:
- B.S. in life science, biology, business, or marketing
- 2+ years of direct account management experience in molecular diagnostics with proven track record of meeting/exceeding expectations
- 3+ years of experience working with hospital systems, psychiatrists, large health systems, and behavioral health clinics
- Demonstrated measurable revenue generation at a diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology company
- Consultative selling skills with ability to overcome objections and connect client needs to solutions
- Comfortable selling at executive level
- Strong understanding of payor/reimbursement environment in molecular diagnostics
- Deep knowledge of molecular diagnostics in behavioral health and competitive landscape
- Excellent negotiation, customer service, and strategic account planning skills
- Superior listening and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and Salesforce.com
- Advanced presentation skills and business acumen
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong oral, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Demonstrated closing abilities throughout sales cycle
- Positive attitude and understanding of organizational dynamics
