Scopely is seeking a Client Engineer to join an early-stage, unannounced cross-platform Strategy/MMO title in development. This hybrid role (3 days/week on-site in Barcelona) focuses on building and improving Real User Monitoring (RUM), client observability, and telemetry capabilities within the Unity client. You will transform questions and needs from across the team into reliable, actionable signals that help the project understand real player experience in the game. You will work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders—including LiveOps, Community, and player-support teams—to investigate player-facing issues and design monitoring solutions that meet their goals. Your work will span the full lifecycle: designing client-side monitoring and diagnostics capabilities, implementing telemetry infrastructure, evolving observability systems for live products, and collaborating on deployment pipelines and build tools. Visa sponsorship is available for candidates from any location. **Requirements:** - Professional experience developing and operating live games with the Unity engine - Excellent C# programming skills and strong knowledge of software engineering best practices - Experience designing, implementing, or evolving client-side monitoring, telemetry, observability, or diagnostics capabilities for a live product - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn ambiguous live-game issues into practical technical solutions - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical partners - Experience working with multiple stakeholders in the development process; ability to understand their goals and evaluate technical approaches that meet them - Experience with version control, build tools, and deployment pipelines - Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile and Scrum - Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Codex, Claude Code) and understanding of how agentic workflows can augment engineering productivity **Bonus:** - Experience supporting a live mobile and/or PC game - Experience collaborating with LiveOps, Community, or player-support teams to investigate player-facing issues - Experience with automated testing and continuous integration - Knowledge of game design principles and user experience - Familiarity with additional game engines, such as Unreal
