Reserv is an insurtech company founded by insurance veterans and backed by Bain Capital and Altai Ventures. The company builds AI and automation technology to modernize claims processing for third-party administrators (TPAs), insurance technology providers, and adjusters.
As a Claims Team Lead, you will serve as a working manager supporting the Claims Manager with both leadership and technical responsibilities. You'll oversee the Commercial Auto Claims (ASE) adjusting staff while maintaining hands-on involvement in claims work when volume requires.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide coaching, feedback, and mentorship to claims adjusters
- Serve as backup leader when the Manager is unavailable
- Lead onboarding and cultural integration for new hires
- Act as subject matter expert for first-line questions, escalations, and team discussions
- Implement and maintain best practices across claim intake, investigation, evaluation, settlement, and recovery
- Manage escalated claims and serve as a resource for complex cases
- Align team performance with client and customer expectations
- Foster a positive work environment and promote professional development
- Support hiring, retention, and training initiatives alongside leadership
- Prepare and present performance metrics and reports
You'll need flexibility to switch between hands-on claims handling and coaching responsibilities, agility to pivot priorities quickly, and the ability to thrive in an evolving, fast-paced environment. The role balances individual contributor work with team leadership, requiring both technical claims expertise and people management skills.
