Insify is a Series B insurtech and licensed insurance agent building a modern claims-handling platform for business insurance across the Netherlands, France, Germany, Ireland, and Sweden. The company is backed by investors including Accel, Munich Re Ventures, and Evli Growth Partners.
As a Claims Handler, you will intake, process, and settle business claims in liability, professional indemnity, and inventory/goods coverage. You will also handle intake for customers who become unable to work and process appeals on occupational disability (AOV) claims. You will work as an authorized representative of major insurers and reinsurers, giving you a clear mandate from day one and direct contact with risk-bearers without intermediaries.
Key responsibilities include:
- Intake, processing, and settlement of business liability and inventory claims
- Intake for occupational disability cases and appeals handling on AOV claims
- Liaison with experts, lawyers, and other insurers
- Direct coordination with insurers and reinsurers
- Customer communication, support, and advice during difficult situations
- Cross-functional collaboration: sharing insights from claims files to improve product, underwriting, and other teams
- Contributing to the future of claims handling by identifying automation opportunities, guiding AI implementation, and enhancing fraud detection
Insify is currently bringing AOV claims handling in-house. If you have AOV experience, you will play a key role; if you come from business claims and are curious about AOV, the company will train you.
You will work in a small, efficient team with short reporting lines (directly to the VP Claims) and have genuine autonomy within your mandate. The role emphasizes process improvement: you identify what can be automated, what should remain human-driven, and how to sharpen fraud detection. You are expected to be critical, analytical, and proactive—comfortable making decisions, explaining them clearly, and driving change.
The company offers hybrid work from the Amsterdam office with flexibility for up to 4 weeks remote per year. Benefits include a pension plan with 6% employer contribution, travel expense reimbursement, 25 vacation days plus December 24 when it falls on a weekday, a €50 monthly Alleo budget (for sports, dining, etc.), regular team events, and a MacBook.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of business claims handling experience
- AOV claims experience is preferred; curiosity about AOV is essential
- Wft Basis certification required; Wft Schade (business and personal lines) is preferred
- Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written (English used daily with international team)
- Critical, analytical mindset with ability to make and justify decisions
- Proactive, solution-oriented, pragmatic approach; efficient and accurate execution
- Ability to identify process improvements and drive change
