Brodie League is a fast-growing North American recreational basketball league with 50,000+ athletes across 20+ locations. As City Launcher for Vancouver, you will own the complete market launch and ongoing growth of the Brodie League in Metro Vancouver Regional District. You are responsible for the full launch cycle: identifying and securing gym facilities, recruiting founding captains and free agents, building local community buzz, and executing the opening season. This is not a transactional role—you remain as the face of Brodie in your city, attending every game night, building relationships with captains and players, and driving retention season over season. Key responsibilities include: **Market Launch**: Conduct cold outreach to gym owners and facilities, negotiate venue agreements, build partnerships with local businesses and community organizations, and validate market demand through real metrics (pricing, fill rate, waitlist). **Recruitment**: Tap into local basketball ecosystems—high schools, colleges, rec centers, parks, open gyms, barbershops—to source captains and teams. Host open runs to convert curious players into free agents and teams. Manage the referral program and place free agents onto teams. Track pipeline activity in CRM. **Community Ownership**: Attend all game nights and build genuine relationships with captains, players, and spectators. Monitor league health (retention, team count, waitlist, feedback). Partner with Operations on game-night execution while owning growth and revenue. **Playbook Development**: Help create repeatable launch strategies, outreach cadences, and grassroots recruitment playbooks that future Brodie cities will use. Test and refine messaging, positioning, and go-to-market strategy. You will report to the Sr. Director of Growth and work cross-functionally with operations, brand, and people teams. As you stabilize your market and prove the model, you earn the right to expand your territory to adjacent cities. Requirements: 3+ years in sales, partnerships, community management, or growth. Strong outbound and relationship-building skills. Experience managing full sales cycles. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Self-motivated and autonomous. Passion for basketball and sports culture. Tech-savvy. Must be based in Vancouver with availability for evenings and weekends. Compensation: $60,000–$70,000 CAD base + uncapped commission (~$500 per team signed).
