Brodie League is a fast-growing adult recreational basketball league with 50,000+ athletes across 20+ locations. As a City Launcher, you will own the complete market entry and growth for New York/New Jersey, reporting to the Sr. Director of Growth.
Your core responsibilities include: securing facilities and negotiating venue partnerships; recruiting and onboarding a minimum of 24 founding captains plus free agents; building local community relationships with gym owners, coaches, programs, and local businesses; managing the location's social presence and outbound recruitment strategy; and validating market demand through real metrics (pricing, fill rate, waitlist). You will host open runs to convert curious players into committed free agents and teams, tap into local basketball ecosystems (high schools, colleges, rec centers, parks, tournaments), and drive the referral program.
Once launched, you own the season and community: attending all game nights as the face of Brodie in your city, building genuine relationships with captains and players to drive retention, monitoring league health in-season, and partnering with Operations on execution. As you stabilize your market and prove the model, you earn the right to expand your territory to adjacent cities.
You will also help build the repeatable launch playbook and go-to-market strategies that future Brodie cities will use, continuously testing and improving messaging, positioning, and conversion tactics. This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role for someone who wants to own a city end-to-end rather than manage a spreadsheet.
Requirements: 3+ years in sales, partnerships, community management, or growth; strong outbound and relationship-building skills; ability to manage conversations from first touch through close; excellent communication and presentation skills; self-motivated and autonomous; passion for basketball and sports culture; tech-savvy; based in your launch market with availability for evenings and weekends. Nice-to-have: existing network in local basketball community; startup or high-growth experience.
