Salary: USD 189,000 - 251,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Chief Radar Engineer to lead the Battlespace Awareness Radar team. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic product leadership, requiring ownership of stakeholder engagement, product definition, technical roadmap planning, and development approach for radar systems.
Key responsibilities include:
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, and industry partners to gather insights, align objectives, and secure buy-in for radar product offerings.
Technical Ownership: Drive radar architecture and product development strategies through understanding of technical tradeoffs, requirements, and innovation opportunities. Develop deep understanding of customer needs, engineering team capabilities, and current/future radar technologies.
Product Strategy: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define winning product strategies that deliver differentiated customer value. Define product development roadmaps and communicate the rationale behind them.
Tactical Execution: Organize and prioritize engineering efforts to bring products to market. Work with functional engineering teams and other product owners to optimize resource utilization. Lead prototyping, development, and operational delivery.
Required qualifications include 4+ years as a Chief Engineer, Technical Program Manager, Product Manager, Engineering Manager, or engineer working on land, maritime, or airborne radars or RF sensors. Candidates must demonstrate deep understanding of radar system design, state-of-the-art radar technologies for defense missions, and solid technical aptitude. Experience shaping strategic pursuits and developing technology roadmaps is essential. A graduate degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering (or equivalent) is required. Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance. 30% travel expected.
Preferred qualifications include experience with JIRA, Confluence, modeling/simulation tools, and developing/fielding novel hardware/software products.
