Salary: USD 130,000 - 160,000 / annual

Zaya Care is a venture-backed healthtech startup building infrastructure for independent specialty medical practices. The company's mission is to establish a new standard of preventive and restorative health by handling operations, compliance, and administration so practices can focus on patient care. As Chief of Staff / Business Operations Lead, you will be the operational backbone of the company, managing finance, HR, compliance, and special projects. This is a broad, hands-on role requiring comfort moving between spreadsheets and people conversations daily. Key responsibilities include: Finance & Operations: Oversee finance operations between Zaya Care and medical practice corporations, including practice payouts and accuracy verification. Support leadership with recurring reporting and KPI tracking. Manage tax and compliance topics across multiple entities. Proactively identify operational bottlenecks and build scalable processes. Special Projects: Lead healthcare operations initiatives to support entry into new states and maintain compliance in existing ones. Own complex cross-functional issues as the escalation point. Conduct data analysis to answer business questions and surface actionable insights. People & Culture: Own interviewing and hiring logistics, coordinating with hiring managers. Run onboarding and offboarding processes. Support employee experience and culture initiatives. Maintain and evolve HR policies and employee handbook. Manage IT and vendor operations. The role is remote-first with in-person meetups and paid travel for company onsites. You'll work closely with leadership and be instrumental in shaping the company from the ground up at the Seed stage. Requirements: - 5+ years of experience in high-performance environments (investment banking, management consulting, public tech company, or venture-backed startup) - At least 1 year of experience in US healthcare industry, with strong preference for healthcare operations background - Highly organized and detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple workstreams (people, finance, admin, compliance) - Comfortable with numbers: ability to build and maintain financial models, reporting, payout calculations, and KPI dashboards - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to handle sensitive HR topics - Discreet and trustworthy with confidential HR, financial, and compliance information - Ability to operate independently with little direction - Authorized to work in the US - Strong preference for candidates based in New York
