Eagle is building an AI-native operating system for engineering firms. The company was founded by Mayank Mardia (CEO), Sohum Daftary (President), and Thomas Shouler, P.E. (CTO), and is backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners. Eagle partners with engineering firms to give engineers superpowers through modern software, addressing an industry where 45,700 firms in the US still run on legacy systems.
As Chief of Staff, you will work directly with the Founders across three major areas: building strategic partnerships with engineering firms, helping those firms grow, and supporting Eagle's operations. You'll be an extension of the Founders and in some places a replacement, owning workstreams, important conversations, and meaningful decisions. Your time will split roughly as follows: one-third building new partnerships, one-third running Eagle operations, and one-third onsite with partner firms driving growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Earning trust onsite at partner engineering firms with principals and engineers unfamiliar with tech companies
- Running partnership cadence with firm leadership on 90-day plans, compensation rollouts, and key hires
- Owning relationships with founder-owners of engineering firms from initial call through signed partnership, maintaining high-touch engagement
- Supporting Eagle's operations including recruiting, logistics, and administration
- Helping transform partner engineering firms in an industry barely touched by AI
- Growing into new roles as Eagle scales, with potential paths including leading new partnerships, operating roles at partner firms, or senior roles at Eagle
You'll be based in NYC with travel to partner firms (primarily Southern California and New York) 6-8 days per month, with heavier travel during new partnership launches.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to earn trust with owners, founders, and executives through excellent communication, nuance, and persuasion
- Willingness to travel and implement ideas onsite; ability to unblock work by meeting people, understanding them, and getting folks aligned
- Curiosity to ask hard questions, listen, figure out things the Founders don't know, and learn very fast in new domains
- Comfort using AI tools daily to work faster and automate systems; bonus if you've built something with AI
- Based in NYC ideally, though elsewhere in the US works for the right fit
- Bonus experience: having started something of your own, negotiating in high-stakes settings, or building tools/dashboards/automation with AI or low-code
