Salary: USD 219,000 - 290,000 / annual
Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Chief Engineer for Radar to lead the Battlespace Awareness Radar team. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic product leadership, requiring ownership of stakeholder engagement, product definition, technical roadmap planning, and development approach.
Key responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, and industry partners to gather insights and align objectives. You will drive radar architecture and product development strategies by understanding technical tradeoffs, requirements, and innovation opportunities. The role demands collaboration with the head of radar, engineering functional leads, strategic growth leads, division leadership, and customers to define and develop critical radar product offerings.
You will develop a comprehensive product strategy that delivers differentiated value to customers, define the product development roadmap, and communicate the rationale behind strategic decisions. Tactically, you'll organize and prioritize engineering efforts required to bring products to market, working with functional engineering teams and other product owners to optimize resource utilization. You'll lead the execution of prototyping, development, and operational delivery.
Required qualifications include 4+ years as a Chief Engineer, Technical Program Manager, Product Manager, Engineering Manager, or equivalent role working with land, maritime, or airborne radars or RF sensors. You must demonstrate deep understanding of radar system design, state-of-the-art radar technologies, and radar applications for defense missions. Strong technical aptitude is essential, along with the ability to work effectively with engineering teams and understand technical designs, software development lifecycle, challenges, and risks.
You should have experience shaping strategic pursuits, developing technology roadmaps, and designing/developing radar or RF systems from concept to deployment. A graduate degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering (or equivalent experience) is required. You must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance and willing to travel 30% for customer, vendor, and internal collaboration.
