Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced autonomy, AI, computer vision, and sensor fusion. The Air Dominance & Strike team develops aerial and multi-domain robotic systems, including Fury (unmanned fighter jet) and Barracuda (air-breathing cruise missile), alongside Lattice for Mission Autonomy—a software platform enabling collaborative autonomous operations across multiple platforms. As Chief Engineer for Autonomous Flight, you will own the technical architecture and system-level design of the onboard autonomy stack, command and control systems, and modular payloads for next-generation autonomous platforms. This is a software-heavy role where you will guide lean, multi-disciplinary engineering teams from concept through deployment, bridging high-level business strategy with rigorous engineering execution. Key responsibilities include: - Lead systems engineering, requirements decomposition, and technical architecture for software-heavy robotics systems - Guide small, fast-moving groups of individual contributors through design, implementation, and deployment phases of emerging programs - Own end-to-end technical decisions for autonomous flight systems, including real-time control, perception integration, and mission planning - Collaborate with specialist teams in Perception, Motion Planning, Hardware, and Test Engineering to solve complex autonomous flight challenges - Drive technical roadmap and architecture evolution as the platform scales - Ensure system reliability, safety, and performance in demanding operational environments You will work at the intersection of cutting-edge autonomy research and production-grade defense systems, with direct impact on military capabilities. The role requires deep expertise in autonomous systems, real-time software architecture, and the ability to lead technical teams in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
