The Air Dominance and Strike (AD&S) Chief Engineering Team drives technical execution and strategic vision for critical programs, architecting product development and guiding multi-disciplinary teams.
In this Chief Engineer role for Advanced Effects (Hypersonics), you will lead technical and programmatic execution of new and existing missile designs from fabrication through test, productization, and sustainment. You will own the technical and programmatic success of your programs, establishing technical vision, assembling teams of internal and external subject matter experts, and communicating that vision effectively.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading technical and programmatic execution of missile design, fabrication, test, productization, and sustainment
- Owning technical and programmatic success; establishing vision and assembling expert teams
- Setting up trades to explore early conceptual designs while working with technical SMEs and Business Development to address DOD capability gaps
- Managing detailed system and subsystem design, including requirements development, trades, optimization, and risk management
- Coordinating prototype and low-rate production fabrication and subsystem/system-level testing
- Supporting remotely deployed operations of systems
- Working with senior leadership on resource planning
- Travel up to 25% to customer and test sites
REQUIREMENTS:
- Deep understanding of missile development or robotics/consumer electronics
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience
- Senior role experience leading programs from initial concept through test and delivery to customers
- Proven ability to drive strategic direction in competitive landscapes and solve complex system optimization challenges under tight constraints
- Demonstrated ability to deliver functional capabilities while aligning technical objectives with programmatic outcomes
- Strong collaboration and partnership skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong understanding of vehicle and systems design principles
- Experience working on mission-critical DOD systems
- Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed systems
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
