Voyager Technologies is a space, defense, and national security technology company building mission-critical solutions for advanced defense and space applications. The Chemical Engineer will support the establishment of a new chemical manufacturing facility in Penrose, CO (with a planned shift to Pueblo, CO within the next year), reporting to the Chief Engineer as part of the Chemicals and Explosives Team.
Key responsibilities include: translating laboratory data into process requirements and equipment specifications; procuring industrial equipment that meets cost, schedule, and performance requirements; developing and building first-principles solutions alongside technician teams when existing equipment is insufficient; testing, refining, and commissioning equipment to bring systems into operation; contributing to safe development and operation of equipment; and identifying, communicating, and tracking engineering risks and mitigations.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related discipline, or 4+ years of chemical engineering experience in lieu of a degree. Essential qualifications include experience taking a process through design, testing, iteration, and scale-up; executing projects on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards; and working knowledge of mass and energy balances, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics. This is a hands-on engineering position focused on translating research into operational manufacturing systems for defense and national security applications.
